EnTranCE Summer 2022
The Texas A&M Graduate Consulting Club and TAMU ERS are coming together to organize EnTranCE.
This event is motivated by the growing importance of optimal integrated use of technological know-how and business practices in today’s fast-paced world. This event aims to amalgamate the best of the business and engineering worlds in the energy sector.

Problem Structure
Participants will be presented with a problem statement that will test their technical and strategic skills. This event addresses the challenge of uniting a group of students who can handle these two aspects of a problem in the best possible way.

Research
The participants will research their top potential solutions. They must evaluate the critical parameters of their proposed plan. The participants will present solutions in accordance to the market and client requirements.

Analysis
The participants will perform thorough analysis of the solutions. Based on the data provided and the available data participants can obtain from reliable sources, the participants will put forth technologically and financially sound solutions.

Presentation
The participants would be presenting their proposition on zoom to a panel of judges. The judging panel would comprise of representatives from consulting and technical firms like McKinsey and Kaneka. Participants would have a chance to interact with the judges.

Guidelines

The registration window for the event would be from the 10th of June to the 14th of July 2022. Students can register teams of 4 or individually. Individually registered students would be allocated a team by the event organizers. A mix of technical and consulting backgrounds is preferred among team members, but not mandatory.

A tutorial would be released to participants in the 1st week of July. The tutorials will be helpful in understanding the standards of requirements of the final solutions.

The participants would get two weeks to analyze the given information and eventually construct a framework. The participants are expected to reach out to ERS or TAMUGC well before the final presentation date for any queries.

The participants would be presenting their proposition on zoom to a panel of judges on Saturday, 30th of July 2022, starting at 9 AM. Participants are encouraged to make sure all the arrangements for the presentation are made and are in order.

The presentation would be conducted in 2 rounds. Finalists selected from the 1st round will be presenting their solutions to the judges in the final round. Each team would be allotted 10 minutes in 1st round and 15 minutes in 2nd round (including QnA).

The top three teams from the final round will be awarded total prize money of $2000.
